Designer's Dream is the exhibition organized by Superstudio and SLIDE, a company specializing in outdoor and indoor furniture, lamps and accessories.
On January 30, following the exhibition, a charity auction was held, managed by Christie's, which saw the sale of all 15 sculptures, numbered, signed and certified by the SLIDE Art project. In the spaces of Superstudio Più, in Via Tortona 27, more than 160 people gathered, including art and design enthusiasts, who competed for the purchase of the works, in the presence of some of the artists and authors of the sculptures on display, Gisella Borioli, founder of Superstudio, Marco Colonna Romano, managing director of Slide, and an exceptional hitter: Cristiano De Lorenzo, Italian general manager of Christie's. It was an evening dedicated to art, design, culture and remembrance, just over a year after the death of Giò Colonna Romano, founder of SLIDE and father of the SLIDE Art project. The entire proceeds raised through the auction were donated to MuseoCity, an association that works to support and enhance Milanese and national museum heritage by promoting more than 100 museums and archives in Milan. The proceeds will be earmarked for actions to increase broader involvement by the city from a socio-cultural perspective.
